3. The Era Of "Anything Can Happen" In World Wrestling Entertainment Is Dead
As much as we dreamed that Dolph Ziggler or Daniel Bryan would win the Royal Rumble, anyone who has paid attention to WWE from the day that The Shield triple-powerbombed The Undertaker on April 26, 2013's episode of Smackdown has known that Roman Reigns was being positioned as a breakout star. He has the look, he has the size, he has the rep, and Vince smelled money. However, in a long-ago era of WWE's history, Roman Reigns would have a Jake Roberts to attack him with a snake on Brother Love's show, or an Intercontinental Champion like Randy Savage to drop a ring bell on his neck. Maybe there would even be an Earthquake to sit on him as he performed feats of strength. No, that era's dead. No swerves, no twists, no turns. Just Superman punches and a Superman push.
