7 Things That Must Happen At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II

3. A Less Than Glorious Night For Andrade Almas

This is going to be an interesting one. Bobby Roode makes his long awaited in-ring debut at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II against Andrade Almas, the man who made his bow at the last TakeOver special. Many would have expected Roode to get a simple showcase bout first up against some chump designed to take a pinfall, but his first test is just that, a test.

So do NXT allow Almas to take a loss? Is it plausible that Bobby Roode will lose his first match on NXT proper? I don't think it is. Roode has struck gold here, a man of immense talent and ability paired up with a theme that people are absolutely desperate to hear.

Almas has also been less-than-inspiring in the last few weeks, and needs what can only be described as a kick in the botty. Roode should win, Almas should learn something, and we can all sing the night away.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
