7 Things That Must Happen At NXT TakeOver: Orlando

1. Shinsuke Nakamura Must Say Goodbye To NXT

Consistently referring to NXT as 'developmental' is somewhat misleading, as these days the Full Sail-based show is as good as a third WWE brand. Even so, moving to the main roster is considered to be a 'promotion', and having someone as talented as Shinsuke Nakamura toil away in the C Brand is baffling.

If Nakamura moved to the main roster today, he would immediately be placed in the upper echelon of workers. Referring to someone as 'too good for NXT' may be somewhat disrespectful to guys like Tye Dillinger, Eric Young and Roderick Strong, but on his day Nakamura is one of professional wrestling's true elite.

NXT TakeOver: Orlando must act as his final goodbye to the C Brand. The youngest IWGP Champion in history has outgrown a brand that he was too big for years before he arrived. The man from Osaka will be a vital part of either RAW or SmackDown, and at 37-years-old, WWE must make the most of this talent before time creeps in.

In what should be a nod to the traditions of professional wrestling. Shinsuke Nakamura must put Bobby Roode over in his final NXT match before moving on to pastures new. Doing so will benefit not just Nakamura, but WWE and NXT as a whole.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
