7 Things That Must Happen At NXT TakeOver: WarGames

3. An Iconic NXT Women’s Champion

Asuka dominated the NXT Women’s Championship like no title-holder before her. What The Empress of Tomorrow did with the title will never be replicated, it simply can’t be. The now-RAW superstar was a perfect storm, an utterly unbeatable figure who made her belt the most important on the show.

So how should NXT follow up the undefeated champion? With the polar opposite of course. Four women will collide with the vacant NXT Women’s Championship on the line, and it is the least experienced of the quartet who should come out with the title around her waist. Peyton Royce is absolutely the right person to take the belt forward.

If Kairi Sane or Ember Moon win the title, very little will have changed. Nikki Cross is an outside bet, but her chaotic character does not need a championship. Peyton Royce must win the NXT Women’s Championship, as the brand moves from a worthy champion to a lucky one.
