7 Things That Must Happen At WWE Extreme Rules 2017
3. Bayley's Woes Continue
WWE really has made a pig's ear of booking Bayley on the main roster. The same goes for the RAW Women's division as a whole in 2017. The division was faced with the lowest hanging fruit of Bayley winning the title and ending Charlotte's pay-per-view streak on the biggest stage, yet decided to rush the title change on an episode of RAW. Bayley has floundered with poor booking, and a stacked division now looks threadbare.
The Kendo Stick-on-a-Pole match may well represent the lowest point yet. The '(Object) on a Pole' stipulation is one of pro wrestling's most regrettable creations. It wasn't interesting in 1991, it was frustrating in 2001, it is completely unnecessary in 2017. Alexa Bliss and Bayley have their work cut out to make this vaguely interesting.
Traditional wrestling booking suggests Bayley should win to get revenge for the horrific 'This Is Your Life' segment on this past Monday's RAW, but a Bayley win could see the misery continue for the division. Alexa must win the match and retain the championship, and everyone and everything must go back to the drawing board. Things really need to improve for the women of RAW.
