7 Things That Must Happen For A WWE Brand Split To Work
1. Two Hour Raws
I am more than well aware that this is a long shot because of how much money WWE makes off that third hour, but in order for a Brand Split to be fully functional in 2016, Monday Night Raw must be two hours long.
No, it isn't because three hours can be beyond draining, though that certainly doesn't help. Rather, having Raw be three hours long while SmackDown is only two immediately sends the message that Raw is the superior show. Ratings-wise, it is, but they need to be treated equally once the Brand Split returns in order for fans to take the blue brand seriously as more than a "B-show."
Moreover, WWE struggles to fill the three hours as it is, and that's using everyone on the roster. Splitting the roster in half, while necessary, will force WWE to make due with who they have on Monday nights. They could always call up an abundance of NXT talent or dedicate that hour to the undercard or the rumored return of the Cruiserweight division, but they would be better off bringing back the two hour Raws.
This likely won't be in the cards any time soon, but it should be only inevitable.
