7 Things We Learned From UFC 194 - Aldo vs. McGregor

4. Strikeforce Deserves Respect

While the promotion was active, Strikeforce was always viewed as a secondary promotion compared to the UFC in much the same way Bellator is now. And while that was obviously true, the myth that the company's fighters didn't belong in the UFC and couldn't compete in the big leagues has now been officially silence. No less than four UFC champions - Rockhold, Daniel Cormier, Fabricio Werdum and Robbie Lawler - were all Strikeforce imports, and many other top contenders such as Jacare, Tim Kennedy and Tyron Woodley also fought for the promotion prior to joining UFC. No longer can anyone claim that these men had no business being locked into the cage with the "superior" fighters in the sport's preeminent league. These warriors have all earned their spot.
