7 Things We Learned From WWE Chronicle: Seth Rollins

3. Raw Reunion Complacency

At least before the cameras, Rollins is tickled a bright shade of pink at the chance to share a ring with some of his childhood heroes - in particular, Shawn Michaels - at the Raw Reunion. He ultimately describes his skit alongside D-Generation X as a "blast", even though it made him seem like exactly what he basically was on the night: a tagalong fan playing pretend wrestler.

Privately, Seth must have known that the whole ratings-grabbing charade was ultimately to his detriment, and would showcase superannuated names of the past as the true stars alongside WWE's modern crop of relative nobodies. Speaking candidly just before going on air, one little comment betrayed what may have been his true feelings. "I'll just rely on the Legends," he told the film crew. "They can take care of the show."

Ultimately, Rollins knew that for that night, he might as well have been invisible. In his own words, he played the role of Billy Gunn, which was "kinda appropriate in a weird way". That is: he was the one not there.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
