7 Things We'll Miss About TNA

2. Nostalgia For The Good Times

Ah yes, nostalgia. Treated as a disease up until the 19th century, nostalgia represents a longing for something passed, a desire to wrap oneself up in a time long ago that may or may not have been better than the current state of affairs. It doesn't truly matter whether it was or not, just that the assumption is there.

We're all like that with TNA. Pro wrestling fans like to talk of some magical time when TNA was a genuine alternative to WWE, before big bad Hulk Hogan and greedy uncle Eric Bischoff came along and ruined everyone's lives. This nostalgia for the good old days of TNA is something that won't disappear, but it will disappear fairly quickly once other companies fill the space left in our hearts.

The good old days of TNA weren't exactly perfect either. Sure, we had AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Samoa Joe for the X-Division Championship, but we also had endless Jeff Jarrett world title reigns and PPV main events where he defended the title against Kevin Nash, DDP, Sting, and Lord knows who else.

The nostalgia for Amazing Red vs. Chris Sabin will be lost once time has passed, and I'm going to miss it.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
