5. She Was A Diving Champion

With her gymnastics dream seemingly in tatters, Sebera looked for another outlet for her competitive drive. Rather confusingly, considering the seriousness of her injury and the location of it, her first concerted foray outside of gymnastics saw her compete in diving.

I'm not an expert, but diving to me looks like a sport that needs pretty strong ankles!

Either way, Sebera picked it up pretty quickly and proved a speedy success jumping off the boards. She even managed to pick up a championship, winning a district title for Holy Name High School, a private Catholic school in Parma Heights (Ohio) with arguably the least creative name for a school I've come across in a while.

Diving didn't do much for Sebera, however, with the future Ms. Brooke describing it as being boring. She needed something a bit more challenging.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
