Is it possible to be a successful professional wrestler without being a fan first? Well, of course it is, but having a deeply ingrained passion for the business can only help.

Like many of us, Dana Brooke was a big wrestling fan as a child, her introduction to the sport coming from her father Bruce.

As many members of the WWE Universe will recall from their own experiences, Brooke cut her teeth as a professional wrestler by wrestling her stuffed animals as a child.

Brooke went a little further than most though, setting up all the pillows in her basement on Sundays and putting on shows for herself.

Brooke also booked herself a manager during these early days. The name of the manager? The Wizard. Stu Hart's Dungeon it ain't, but love always has to start from somewhere.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
