7 Things WWE Got Right At Backlash 2017

4. Sami Zayn Wins? Sami Zayn Wins!

Sami Zayn doesn't win big matches. Obviously such a hyperbolic statement isn't to be taken literally, but in recent months it has felt that way. Zayn's purpose since the draft has been to fight valiantly against a bigger man before succumbing at the last. With a match against Baron Corbin booked for Backlash, it seemed like more of the same for Zayn.

Somehow, someway, 'The Underdog from the Underground' managed to pull out a victory against 'The Lone Wolf'. It wasn't a lucky win either - Zayn hit the Helluva Kick and pinned Corbin, clean as a whistle, 1-2-3. Sami took a beating but used his experience to capitalise on Corbin's mistake. It actually made Zayn look good for once.

Does Baron Corbin lose anything in defeat? It may seem so initially. Corbin has lost a lot of matches recently, and a recurring theme has been that he struggles against more experienced performers. The future is still extremely bright for Baron Corbin however. Now may well be the time to put some money on that Money in the Bank ladder match coming up next month...
