First things first, if Peyton Royce and Billie Kay truly didn't care who won the championship why didn't one just lay down for the other in the middle of the ring?

Minor gripes aside, the women's fatal 4-way was another exercise in excellent match construction by the ladies of NXT. The interactions between Nikki Cross and Asuka were brief enough to whet the appetite for more, and Royce and Kay were able to hide the lack of experience throughout. Asuka retained the championship, but many will see Nikki Cross as the big star coming out of the match. The Scot was a genuine live-wire throughout and may well have put a spanner into the assumed Asuka/Ember Moon works with her performance.

Cross was taken out of the match with a brutal suplex through a table by the Australians, the SAnitY member saving face somewhat as a result. It may be some way down the line, but Nikki Cross is going to be a major babyface star for WWE in the future.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
