The New Day got off to a disastrous start with their all-smiling all-dancing babyface stable derided as cheesy and potentially racist. Fortunately, somebody in the WWE's booking team saw sense and decided to turn Kofi, Xavier and Big E. heel, which garnered an immediately improved reaction and yielded their first Tag Team Championship reign. The best thing for the trio now would be a descent into full-blown heeldom, transforming from petty cheaters into deranged preachers. Giving the New Day a Scientology-style makeover would lend a sinister edge to the colourful outfits and overly-optimistic outlook. They could become three of the most despised heels on the WWE roster if nudged in the right direction, and certainly have the charisma and in-ring ability to back it up. A big win at Payback is a must.
