7 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Mickie James
3. Nude Modelling Past
Back in the early-to-mid 2000s, WWE recruited (and attempt to recruit) many women from the modelling world. Not concerned with things like previous experience in a wrestling environment, Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis wanted young, good-looking girls like Kelly Kelly and the crop of Diva Search contestants.
Mickie was not hired because of her model looks, but she did have experience in the field. It wasn't catalogue or catwalk that Mickie was known for, mind. It came to light during her WWE tenure that she had in fact done a spot of nude modelling in her past, with the risqué pictures posted to message boards the world over. Obviously, WWE is now a PG-rated product and their female performers are all background-checked before being hired to avoid a scandal breaking.
Mickie did the modelling well before she made it to WWE TV but the pictures are still out there and are something that WWE won't want fans discovering and sharing in the run-up to her grand return at NXT Takeover: Toronto. Mickie even threatened to sue any websites who published them when she made her TV debut in 2005.
As an aside, according to a the Highspots shoot interview with Paul London and Brian Kendrick, locker room jock Batista supposedly printed off some of said pictures and stuck them on the walls of the locker room when he was having issues with Ms. James in the late 2000s.
