7 Things WWE Will Continue To Tease But Never Deliver On

3. Making Matt Hardy “Broken”

There was a ton of excitement, as well as concern, over The Hardy Boyz possibly returning to WWE when their TNA contracts expired in the springtime. There was a chance we could see their "Broken" persons on a much bigger stage, but would the company do right by the golden gimmick?

We never got a chance to find out because immediately after they departed TNA, Jeff Jarrett and other Anthem officials declared they were the rightful owners of the "Broken" Matt Hardy intellectual property. An ugly legal battle ensued from that point forward, a war that has yet to be resolved.

What's weird is that Matt returned to WWE at WrestleMania still sporting the crazy hair and doing the "Delete!" chants, occasionally incorporating his wacky catchphrases and unmistakable accent into his promos. That led to fans believing WWE had plans to make The Hardy Boyz "broken" eventually, but it's been seven months and that has yet to be the case.

There have been countless occasions since they resurfaced in WWE that it looked like they were about to become "broken" without actually calling themselves that, but for whatever reason, WWE has refused to let them be anything other than themselves.

By the time Matt ultimately gets ownership of the character, it will have lost most of its value to WWE.
