The more eagle-eyed viewers may have recognised the kind eyes of Braun Strowman from his previous appearances on World Wrestling Entertainment television. But from where, I hear you scream? (the above video obviously gives that away).

Back when Adam Rose was a thing with a catchy theme song and something approaching momentum, he would be accompanied to the ring by a troupe of party animals he would refer to as his 'rosebuds'.

These guys basically resembled cultish drugged up revellers, dancing around and existing merely to be irritating and catch Rose off the apron when he would fall post-match. Braun Strowman was one a rosebud. He was dressed up in a gladiator costume, and even in this mass of humanity he stood out.

From now on I'm going to believe that Bray Wyatt saved Strowman from the drug-addled haze of the rosebud lifestyle, offering him solace and rehabilitation in exchange for beating up people Wyatt didn't like. A fair deal.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
