7 Things You Should Know About WWE Royal Rumble 2007

6. Awful Ending To Lashley's ECW Title Win Against Test

Bobby Lashley was the ECW Champion that was on the receiving end of a big push. It was rare to see him lose matches at this point in his career. WWE saw him as a star for the future, so he was booked like a dominant figure. His opponent at the 2007 Rumble was Test, who was in the heel role as WWE tried to revive his career. They had a physical match that saw Test look impressive for much of it before Lashley made the big comeback. It looked like he was on his way to retaining the title by pinning Test. That's not what happened, though. There was a brutal finish to this match. Test was outside the ring and could have easily rolled back instead the ring, but as the ref reached the count of 7, Test decided he should just leave. He lost by countout. After the match, Lashley brought him back into the ring and hit a big powerslam to end their segment. What's the point of doing a match finish like that? It was brutal. The ECW brand in WWE was a failure. Matches like this one didn't help.
