7 Things You Should Know About WWE Royal Rumble 2007

1. The Undertaker Battling Shawn Michaels Was The Best Rumble Ending Ever

The final two sequence with Undertaker and Michaels was amazing. They didn't interact with eachother for about nine years because when Shawn returned to the ring in 2002 he was a Raw wrestler while Undertaker was a Smackdown guy. This was their first confrontation in nearly a decade and it looked like they hadn't missed a beat. They started it with Undertaker sitting up while Michaels did a kip up. The crowd went wild for it. Each man had some near elimination moments. It's amazing to see how athletic Undertaker was while Michaels has been one of the best athletes WWE has ever seen. There was a beautiful exchange of finishing moves. Michaels missed a Superkick, then Undertaker caught him and hit a Chokeslam. The Tombstone attempt was avoided by Shawn, who nailed the Superkick to knock the big man down. They were both down looking exhausted. Michaels went for another Superkick, Undertaker ducked it and sent Michaels over the top rope to the floor. It was the first and only time that The Undertaker won a Royal Rumble match. He had been part of them going back 15 years, but he finally got the win in one of WWE's biggest matches of the year. In the end, both guys got title matches at WrestleMania 23. Undertaker beat Batista for the World Title in a midcard match and Michaels beat Cena for the WWE Title in the main event. This Rumble match ending was a cool moment when Undertaker and Michaels were the last two in the match, lying there all alone. Their one on one showdown lasted about eight minutes, which is the longest of any final showdown in Rumble history. The fans in the arena loved it while those of us that witnessed it will never forget it.
