7 Times CM Punk Showed That He's Delusional

7. Money Is Not Important - Or Is It?

Right at the beginning of the interview, Punk explains why he'd chosen to break his ten month silence for free on his best friend's podcast. He says, "I€™m sure someone would€™ve paid me handsomely for this story, but that€™s not what it€™s about. Money is not about everything ladies and gentlemen. That will be a big theme in my story." And yet, the subject of money and how he was unhappy with what he was being paid crops up continually in his interview. Take these choice quotes for example: "They say to just go out there and have fun, but this place sucks and you€™re not paying me nearly enough to do this stuff.""I complained about my Mania pay. I should be compensated for my match. I should not get paid any less than Taker, Brock, Hunter, Rock, or Cena but I know I got paid less than all of those guys." Punk also mentioned that he had broached the subject of what he would be paid for WrestleMania now that the show could be ordered on the WWE Network. Previously, PPV pay offs were calculated on a percentage of the overall number of buys. But now the landscape had changed. For a man who says that money isn't everything, he certainly raised the subject enough times.
