7 Times CM Punk Showed That He's Delusional

6. He Wanted To Have Sponsors Like Brock Lesnar

Early on in his interview, Punk states how he had been approached by "legitimate companies" who had offered to sponsor him for what he labelled as a ridiculous amount of money. He wanted to change his look to MMA style fight shorts to emulate UFC fighters whose shorts bore sponsors' logos during their fights. But this idea was turned down by Vince McMahon and was never raised again. A year later, and Brock Lesnar was re-signed by the WWE in the biggest wrestling news story of the year. Lesnar wore his MMA fight shorts that he had worn during his UFC fights. Lesnar got himself a very good deal with the WWE. It's well known that Lesnar sees wrestling as a source of income. He's never been a fan of the business and it's not in his soul like it is with countless current wrestling stars all over the world. The simple fact was that the WWE wanted Brock Lesnar back because Lesnar had shown in both the WWE and the UFC that he sells tickets, he sells merchandise and he sells PPVs. When it comes to comparing Lesnar's impact on professional wrestling fans, MMA fans and casual observers to that of CM Punk, there is simply no comparison. Brock Lesnar is a one-off phenomenon whose success in two arenas may never be replicated. But CM Punk can't see that. And besides, if money isn't about everything, then why is he getting so aggrieved about it anyway?
