7 Times WWE Blew It With Jack Swagger

6. You Don't Know Jack

Originally signing to Raw amongst the basement draftees in the 2016 Brand Extension, Swagger was as insignificant on the red brand as he'd ever been.

A jobber-to-the-jobbers, let alone the stars, Jack was immune to wins, as proven when he laid down for roster-enhancing returnee Jinder Mahal in a tepid match.

Post-match, an interview with Tom Phillips revealed that Swagger's contract on the a-show was expiring, leading to speculation that an angle was forthcoming over his possible defection or outright departure from the company.

WWE weren't keen to let that breathe though, and Swagger abruptly appeared on Smackdown Live! the following night to rescue Apollo Crews from a Baron Corbin beating.

Despite dressing like 1998, the rest of his act was refreshing, as he ran off 'The Lone Wolf' and re-established his amateur and professional credentials, even dropping in a new catchphrase in as he promised to thrive in the blue brand's land of opportunity.

It didn't happen. Controversially defeating Corbin in his debut match, Swagger looked a loser for accepting the tainted victory, and defeat in legitimate contests to Baron on pay-per-view and television saw Jack still on his back.

Quietly disappearing off the main shows again, it would be his last major programme.
