7 Times WWE Cast Doubt On Finn Bálor's Future

5. Getting Curb Stomped By Seth Rollins

The WWE Universe went wild when Seth Rollins reached back into his arsenal and brought out his old finishing maneuver during his bout with ‘The Demon King’ on the 15 January, 2018 episode of RAW. There was nothing wrong with the match nor the move itself, but unfortunately, Bálor’s momentum was sacrificed in the process.

Fans of the Demon celebrated when he reunited with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson just two weeks prior, and it seemed as though WWE green-lit another push for Bálor, if not for the entire Club. But then ‘The Demon’ was used as a pawn to build the story between Jason Jordan and Seth Rollins, as well as create a buzz over the once-banned move.

Granted, the Bálor Club faced off in a match including Rollins the week before - but almost anyone else could have been thrown in the way to establish the uneasy relationship between the former Tag Team Champions. Likewise, Blackout would have made headlines regardless of its victim - so why pick a performer who had a rough time climbing back up the ladder since surrendering the Universal Championship (which he won by defeating Rollins) mere weeks after his new push?
