And helpful Hulk is back once more, I wonder why he is featuring so much in this list. This time, the stage is WrestleMania IX and instead of racism, the archaic elements he is trying to re-establish here, is himself. It was around this time, the New Generation era was just getting ready to take off.

Now admittedly it was less a blast off and more a tentative hop, but nonetheless you have to back your new stars if you want your product to grow and sustain. So glad WWE have learned this lesson today.

Anyhow, it was not to be. Bret Hart had quickly risen through the ranks and become the new fan favourite. There was so much to like in his heroic, battling, babyface persona. He had the perfect foil too, in the form of monstrous foreign heel Yokozuna. It all seemed very simple, and the fans were ready for the crowning of their new hero. And, Vince decided he wanted to make Hogan champion again.

What followed was one of the worst screwy finishes of all time, as Hart was beaten by the most destructive weapon ever to be made in Japan according to WWE: the dreaded salt. Inexplicably Hogan arrived, Mr. Fuji challenged him to a title match there and then because, why not, and the match was over quicker than a Zack Ryder push. Nobody wanted Hogan as their world champion, but that’s what you get for being a WWE fan sometimes.

After battling Galactus and pinning Hulk Hogan in the main event of Wrestlemania, I've taken a break from living in fantasy worlds, to focus on writing about them. I'm a comic book geek, a wrestling mark, a break dancer, and a scientist. One of those things may not be true.
