7 Underrated WWE Matches John Cena Haters Ignore

7. JBL Vs. John Cena (Great American Bash 2008)

JBL John Cena

No, John Cena's use of the word 'Poopy' in the lead up to this Parking Lot Brawl at the 2008 Great American Bash cannot be defended. Occurring right after WWE decided to embrace a more child-friendly direction, the pay-per-view match thankfully rescued things by turning out to be over-the-top fun. Cena critics likely believe 'over-the-top' should be replaced by 'ridiculous'.

They have a point, but at least JBL and Cena tried something different here. There wasn't the same gritty feel of prior matches between the pair, such as their 'I Quit' affair at Judgment Day 2005, and yet the action was never anything less than entertaining. Boring is not accurate criticism of this one even if fans dislike the action-movie set piece moments.

JBL setting a car on fire (with Cena inside), windshield bumps, and the big Texan getting his nuts fried were all part of the match. That's right, Cena attached some cables to JBL's testicles and shocked them; nothing screams 'PG' more than that.
