7 Most Underrated WWE Rivlaries

6. Randy Savage Vs. Jake Roberts

The Randy Savage and Jake Roberts feud in late 1991 should have lasted a lot longer than it did. It was the perfect mix of a dark, crafty heel like Roberts going up against Savage, who at that point was as popular as ever after he married Elizabeth on WWE TV (they were already married in real life). When Jake's snake named Damien bit the arm of Savage on WWE TV it legitimately scared the hell out of me as a kid that loved Savage and was petrified of snakes too. It just looked like the nastiest thing I had ever seen on a wrestling show. My favorite wrestler was getting attacked by this crazy guy with a snake. It was real to me! Haha. It's really a shame that they didn't get to have a major PPV match out of this feud because the heat for it would have been amazing. Having a match at "This Tuesday In Texas" didn't come off like a big deal since it wasn't one of the major shows in WWE. It probably should have led to a WrestleMania match between them, but Savage was moved in to the WWE Title feud with Ric Flair. They really were on the brink of something special with this rivalry and then it just sort of fizzled out without enough resolution. It was still very underrated because it was one of the best feuds in either man's career, yet isn't necessarily remembered in that way.
