6. Good Thing They Suspended The Cage

Man, it’s a really good thing the ring crew set up and suspended the steel cage above the ring before Raw, otherwise Adam Pearce would have looked silly saying there would be a steel cage match in the main event.

Oh right, we’re supposed to suspend our disbelief and just smile because WWE put that smile on our collective faces.

Seriously though, we have to deduct points from WWE for that one. It’s just a stupid logic gap that really could be fixed with a throwaway line from Pearce: “I thought things might get out of hand, so I had the ring crew set up the cage just in case we needed it.” That’s it. Literally 10 seconds of dialogue would have closed that plot hole.

But the company that tells stories and has 37 writers on staff isn’t interested in closing plot holes. They’re too busy putting smiles on faces… presumably their own.
