7 Ups & 10 Downs From WWE Raw (Sep 27)

5. From Elite To 24/7 To Elite

Hurt Business
WWE

The short-sightedness of WWE’s booking was on full display when Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander rejoined a group they never should have left in the first place, the Hurt Business.

With MVP out injured, Bobby Lashley’s former running buddies reunited with the former champ, which was a cool moment (more on that later), but also immediately drew to mind the fact that neither man had been doing anything of consequence since being booted.

In fact, Alexander was most recently chasing the 24/7 Championship around backstage. So just to recap, Cedric went from an elite stable, to failed tag wrestler, to jobber, to failed 24/7 “contender” teaming with a ninja to take a title from a Cirque du Soleil performer.

WWE’s booking is so abysmal in that they broke up the group in the first place, then shuttled the spare parts down the card, then suddenly ratcheted them back up into the Hurt Business after completely de-pushing them into nothing.

Genius booking guys.
