7 Ups & 2 Downs For AEW Collision (June 8 - Results & Review)

1. Low Stakes

AEW Collision Daniel Garcia Tate Mayfairs
AEW

Another mild complaint, but something that has become a little too commonplace with AEW Collision in recent weeks and months.

When looking back at these two hours of television, was there anything you absolutely must go out of your way to watch? Yes, the opener and the main event featured some great in-ring work, but this was yet another of those Collisions where there was no real drama, no real stakes, and pretty much every match was predictable.

Discounting the FTR vs. BCC match, did anyone really expect Robyn Renegade to defeat Kris Statlander, Johnny TV to defeat Dustin Rhodes, Dante Leon and Trip Jordy to defeat The Premier Athletes, Lady Frost to defeat Toni Storm, Tate Mayfairs to defeat Daniel Garcia, or even Kyle O'Reilly to defeat Orange Cassidy? Likely not.

Of course, predictable isn't always bad - for instance, Stat's win continued to cement her new heel persona - but when you've got a seven-match card where six of those contests are entirely predictable, it does become a little much and make Collision feel easy to skip.
