7 Ups & 2 Downs For AEW Collision (June 8 - Results & Review)
5. Burgeoning Issues Tick Along
Much like Dustin Rhodes vs. Johnny TV existed solely to give Rhodes a win ahead of facing Jack Perry next week, The Premier Athletes vs. Dante Leon & Trip Jordy was here just to give Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari a win before they face Samoa Joe and Hook.
This was fine, clocking in at less than one minute as Nese got the win for his team, and it marked the first match on AEW TV for over one year for the group.
Later in the show, Joe and Hook were shown putting a beatdown on Nese, Daivari, and Mark Sterling, and an online exclusive promo had The Premier Athletes make it clear they'll be coming after Joe, Hook, and Katsuyori Shibata.
Have Nese, Daivari, and presumably Josh Woods got any chance of beating Samoa Joe, Hook, and Shibata? Nah, but this week's Collision was at least a solid way to keep these issues ticking along. Also, extra props for Joe and Hook's lacrosse conversation.
