7 Ups & 2 Downs For AEW Collision (June 8 - Results & Review)

4. Welcome Back, Scorp

AEW Collision Scorpio Sky
AEW

It's been nearly nine months since Scorpio Sky last wrestled for AEW, and it's eight months since he last wrestled at all - that being an ROH win over Darius Martin - and so it was nice to see Scorp appear in a pre-recorded video to herald his return to the ring now that any injury issues seem behind him.

Here, Sky proclaimed himself as "your" hero and "your" face, and that was that. It seems as if the former TNT Champion has a slightly tweaked character nowadays, so we'll have to wait and see how things play out for Scorpio in the coming weeks and months - with him also promising to claim some gold.

One side note, though, Tony Schiavone regularly labelling people as all-time greats is so tired, so false, and just so often nothing but painful hyperbole. Scorpio Sky is a fantastic talent, but Schiavone's words make it sound like we're dealing with the second coming of Lou Thesz. Of course, this also comes on the heels of Tony making similar marks about Johnny TV in recent weeks.

Yes, the job is to sell the audience on believing a wrestler is a big deal, but over-selling the point has an adverse impact that takes away from your commentator's credibility.
