7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite: Big Business (Results & Review)

2. Chris Jericho Continues To Drag It All Down
Chris Jericho, on last night's evidence, is as washed as Kevin Kelly's brain.
His match alongside HOOK, LionHOOK Vs. Gates of Agony, was not particularly good at all. Worked between three green, dynamic guys and one slowing veteran, the pacing was odd, disjointed. Jericho played face-in-peril. Nobody gave a f*ck. The story and atmosphere was doomed. In a looping structure that felt never-ending, HOOK kept getting knocked off the apron. It happened around three times. He looked like a geek for not even trying to get cut off in his fury by the ref. (He's better off studying '90s AJPW tape than teaming with Jericho).
The faces got back into it, but the comeback was all kinds of bad. Jericho only just managed to hit Bishop Kaun, who was out of position to take a missile dropkick. Just before the finish, Jercho took out Toa Liona with his apron dropkick. He got caught up in the ropes; another rough spot in yet another rough Chris Jericho match. He might get a pop if he went away for six months. Right now, he positively reeks of desperation. It's almost unbearable.
As AEW continues to feel rejuvenated, Jericho remains the skeevy, unwanted, vibe-destroying guest who won't get the hint.
