7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (February 14 - Results & Review)

6. Toni Storm Does It Again

Timeless Toni Storm
AEW

This week's Toni Storm segment was both intentionally funny and perversely funny, depending on your disposition.

Toni was a riot narrating her new short feature 'Wet Ink' which, as expected, was the reveal of a cover-up to mask the matching tattoo she once had inked alongside Deonna Purrazzo. She built the idea that Deonna was her naive "young girl" to climax with the fantastic line "she bit the t*t that feeds".

It was then revealed, maybe, that Storm has covered up the old tat with a dagger effect stabbing through it. If this is real, going to the hassle of altering one's body so that we go to the back! for a 10 second Deonna reaction shot is insane.

A 10 second reaction to a lifelong decision!

Even if it's a temporary gimmick, at least pretend that it's real, and sell it with the gravity it should warrant. As under-sold as this plot development was, it was still a creative beat in the best women's story AEW has told in absolutely forever, and Toni is now consistently funny enough every single week that her Timeless character no longer feels like a sports entertainment imposition.

It's funnier than sports entertainment.
