7 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (21 Oct)

Downs...

2. Make It Matter

The typical professional wrestling contract signing will see a mundane segment perhaps turn intriguing, but when said signing takes place backstage in the same vein as an actual office meeting, it doesn't quite hit the same note.

This was paramount as Decay signed the contract for their Knockouts Tag Team Titles vs. the IInspiration. Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay were nowhere in sight - which is the right call, save their official debut appearance for the 23 October pay-per-view - but because they instead sent their legal representation in R.D. Evans, it didn't have the same feel. Those involved tried making it work, with Rosemary being dressed in a blood-stained suit and questioning why she'd been provided with ink to sign rather than blood, but it failed to ever get going. It was signed without fuss.

The match will be great because people are eager to see a new version of the former Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, but the hype certainly lost a bit of steam after this. A minor nitpick perhaps but warranted nonetheless.
