7 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (21 Oct)

6. Uncle Rhino

Violent By Design Heath
IMPACT Wrestling

The Heath, Rhino, and Violent By Design story arc took its next, crucial step this week, adding a layer of personal intensity to it when Heath addressed his daughters - who he actually named to enhance the importance - missing their uncle Rhino.

Rhino smiled, showing that a) the old Rhino is still there, and b) he's not been entirely brainwashed into a new walk of life by Violent By Design.

Having Heath beaten down again by VBD perhaps wasn't needed, seeing as that's been the premise this story has been based on, but it's fine. When Rhino set up for a Gore on Heath, having just yanked Deaner off the former SmackDown Tag Team Champion, it reached the point of the story that we should be at heading into the pay-per-view. He didn't actually perform the move, thus leaving his allegiance unknown.

It seems likely that the 'War Machine' will indeed by Heath's partner against Violent By Design on Saturday, and although a surprise would be more preferable, it remains fine if it is Rhino. It fits the story, it makes sense in every way, and it acts, presumably, as a conclusion to this story that has technically stretched for a year. For now, this was solid stuff.
