7 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 20)
3. When Four Becomes Eight
Considering the amount of times we've seen the teams interact with each other since this story began, some fans may be getting tired of seeing The Good Brothers and The North sharing a ring. This match, though? There was nothing to be tired by.
Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson, Ethan Page, and Josh Alexander were able to continue the phenomenal story arc in the World Tag Team Championships scene, which once again received the main event slot this week. Impact really are going all in on this match. From the small mannerisms of both tandems to the different gameplans they both came in with, the match was near perfection.
Having it end in a no contest was also the best way to tie things up before the pay-per-view. There was no way Gallows and Anderson were losing here, while a loss for Page and Alexander would've severely harmed them heading into Saturday's show. Thus, an in-ring war between all four was needed, with Ace Austin, Madman Fulton, and The Motor City Machine Guns joining post-match. It's also worth noting that 'The Big LG' and 'The Machine Gun' stood tall over not only The North, and Austin and Fulton, but also the Guns, marking the first proper time those two units have come to blows.
Things needed a change, even a slight one, before the weekend's proceedings. This did everything it set out to achieve, and then some.
