7 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 20)

4. Scramble Melee

Bound For Glory will see a six-person Scramble Match. What does this call for? A six-person tag team match featuring the competitors, of course. It's a contrived aspect of professional wrestling, using these multi-person tag bouts to build hype for a Scramble Match - why can't a one on one contest between two of the combatants suffice?

Nevertheless, the match was a delight, with TJP, Trey Miguel, and Willie Mack joining forces to battle Chris Bey, Jordynne Grace, and the reigning X Division Champion, Rohit Raju. There were a few expectations with this one, and all of them were met. Miscommunication between partners, Rohit continuing to be a pesky champion by only tagging in when the opposition appeared to be weakened, and a tradition for multi-person affairs, the spot where everyone gets their sh*t in. Willie Mack's pop-up forearm will never not be deadly.

Having Bey and Raju forget who the legal man was to steal pins from each other at the end of the bout was a perfect way to end things, considering their previous alliance. What was far more perfect, though, was when 'The Ultimate Finesser' actually took out the champion with his springboard cutter, with Miguel then superkicking Bey out of the way to take the win for his team. Just the way to end a match like this.
