7 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 20)

2. Perfect Build

With Bound For Glory looming on Saturday evening, Impact Wrestling needed to use this week's episode to perfectly build towards the pay-per-view, and boy, did they ever.

The video packages throughout the show were superb. In particular, the packages showcasing Deonna Purrazzo and Kylie Rae were outstanding, helped by the fact that the Knockouts division actually began at the 2007 Bound For Glory. Deonna arrogantly stating she's the best Knockout in history during a VT that showed the likes of Gail Kim, Awesome Kong, and Angelina Love was then contrasted by 'Smiley Kylie's' heartfelt speech about how she wanted to be the reason a little girl realised their dreams of becoming a wrestler.

Similarly, the packages showing how the World Championship match and the World Tag Team Championships matches came to be were exquisite in their storytelling. Both of those story arcs over the past few months have been built to perfection, the former of the two especially. Trying to fit all of that into one singular promo video is an accomplishment in itself, so props need to be given to Impact's production team for creating these spectacular videos ahead of the biggest show of the year.
