7 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dark (Jan 26)

5. Jurassic Express & Rey Fenix Make It Fun

Expanding the Dark pseudo squash format into a more competitive layout is great when the wrestlers make it fun, and guess what? Jurassic Express and Rey Fenix make it fun.

Jurassic's Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy went up against two Dark's better enhancement wrestlers, Lee Johnson, and Aaron Solow, and did the business. This was a good, well-plotted clash that kept a decent pace and had a sense of balance earned by Solow and Johnson, who made Jungle Boy pay for long periods. This ended with the inevitable Luchasaurus hot tag, with Solow eventually tapping out for the L.

Fenix wrestled Dark regular Baron Black later on. This was faster and more fluid than the tag, with Black scoring a credible near-fall on Fenix and Rey as creative as ever. That Fenix helped his fallen opponent to his feet after beating him suggests bigger things may be in store for Baron soon.
