7 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (1 Sep)

Young Bucks Rey Fenix
AEW

Jurassic Express and Lucha Brothers vs. The Elite wasn't at the upper end of AEW's eyeball-popping multi-man tags, but that's no put-down. These matches have a very, very high floor and an even higher ceiling. They hit hard and fast, layering pops on top of pops with cloudbursts of offense, whirling limbs, and flying bodies because if nothing else, AEW's house style and roster are perfectly calibrated to deliver in this domain.

But yes, the match was great.

Intricate and laced with action, it was a clash of fast-moving paces that refused to waver in pace from the moment Rey Fenix and Nick Jackson tagged in early on. Luchasaurus was more grounded and the Good Brothers more straightforward in their approach, but the primary focus was on giving Fenix, Jungle Boy, and co. a canvas to pump adrenaline all over, though even the beefiest man in the match found room for a late-bout moonsault press.

A questionable decision to have Fenix eat the pin here. Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy aren't involved in featured pay-per-view matches, competing instead on the Buy In, and could have easily absorbed the L. Nonetheless, this is only a minor complaint towards a bout that largely delivered on its promise.
