7 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (6 March - Review)

3. Hook Enters The Jerichoverse

Chris Jericho Hook
AEW

Hook and Brian Cage was a decent but unspectacular plunder brawl that your mileage may vary on, but there wasn’t going to be an at-home pop from the match as big as Taz' remark on ‘The Machine’s ability (or lack thereof) to cut a promo.

It was funny one from the former Team Taz boss watching his son and fellow ex-stablemate go at it, but the levity was needed for a match that came much too soon after Revolution’s main event. The excess (and the philosophy that drives it for better and worse) will never go away, so it becomes the viewer’s choice whether or not to engage. Will they do so for Hook now he’s mates with - sigh - Chris Jericho?

The two shared a bonding moment before the match, but Jericho saving the FTW Champion from a Mogul Embassy beatdown signposted a tag match and god knows what else for the two going forward. Here’s hoping the Embassy and Swerve Strickland are no longer affiliated, lest Jericho’s true plan suddenly reveal itself the second Strickland’s holding gold.
