7 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage: New Year's Smash (Dec 30)

Ups...

7. Blasting Through The Baddies

Red Velvet Jade Cargill
AEW

Right, good vibes only from here on out. Promise.

Jade Cargill never really needed an entourage, so it's encouraging that AEW wants to move away from 'The Baddies' towards something new. Who knows what Kiera Hogan will do without that alliance and guaranteed weekly spot on TV, but she gave a good account of herself vs. Jade here.

This was actually one of Cargill's better matches, and the Red Velvet stuff means there's more to come. Seeing Velvet stop Jade from slapping Kiera means a split is coming there too. That'll likely happen on Dynamite when Red and Cargill team up vs. Hogan and Skye Blue.

It'll be a good story if Jade starts shedding her allies one by one until she has nobody left. She's at the stage where she doesn't need to share the spotlight anyway; besides, fans are already (sort of) giving her entrance face reactions heading into the new year.
