7 Ups & 3 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (18 Nov)

2. This Is Her Big Return?

Deonna Purrazzo, who'll legitimately go down as one of IMPACT's biggest stars of the past few years, has been conspicuous by her absence since dropping the Knockouts World Title to Mickie James at Bound For Glory. It ended her reign of nearly one year, and almost felt like the end of an era.

But her return to television told you otherwise.

Sitting down for a backstage interview with Gia Miller, Deonna, accompanied by Matthew Rehwoldt, was dressed in all black, as was Matthew, and felt like a true superstar. She had this aura as she walked in that she typically possesses. A good start, at least.

From there, everything spiralled. Deonna answered questions without really answering them, stating she's been at home for the past month. She failed to disclose any real information, thus making this a complete waste of time. The only highlight, if you can call it that, was Deonna telling Gia she was contractually obligated to attend the interview; she didn't want to. This keeps her superior heel persona intact.

Deonna's big return should have been treated as a marquee event. What lays ahead for her is genuinely an intriguing story, one that IMPACT could use to mould their next few months of knockouts division content. Instead, she's just back. Was this supposed to make us care?
