7 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Nov 19)

1. Swann Shines

Much like what Seth Rollins and Kofi Kingston did in their respective Gauntlet Matches the past two Februarys, Rich Swann put in the performance of a lifetime in the Elimination Challenge.

The former X Division Champion first took it to Moose after 'Mr Impact Wrestling' was victorious over Daga in the first stage of the match, using a more strike-based offence as opposed to his usual speed and agility, while also spiking Moose on his skull with a handspring cutter. A crucifix rollup would see Swann score the upset over Moose, with Michael Elgin entering next. 'Big Mike' would end up decimating Rich here, eventually being disqualified after shoving the referee off as he continued his beatdown of Swann.

Sadly, Swann was left bleeding from the nose and mouth, allowing Brian Cage to take advantage upon entering the fray by eliminating him in quick fashion, but you can't take anything away from the performance he left here. It's clear to see why he held the X Division Championship for so long. On paper, it wasn't likely he would be winning this bout, but he could very well be a future contender with the World Championship if he keeps up performances like this.
