7 Ups & 3 Downs From UFC 247

1. Judging Fails

When Dana White tells fighters that they should never leave the fight in the hands of the judges, it can sometimes comes across as a bit of a corny cliche to try and make them fight for the finish. However, if he ever needs an example to showing that his saying is correct, he'll only need to point to this card.

Some of the decisions from those judging the fights were absolutely terrible, with an abundance of suspect scorecards popping up throughout the night. Jon Jones somehow won four rounds against Dominick Reyes in what was one of the most competitive fights of his life, Derrick Lewis won the final round against Ilir Latifi despite being taken down repeatedly and Andre Ewell was given all three rounds on the scorecard of one judge, even though it was a split decision win for him.

While we believe that all fighters should go for the finish in their fights, that doesn't mean they should be forced to worry about whether or not the judges can do their job correctly. It's been said for a long time, but there needs to be some sort of change when it comes to judging, otherwise fighters and fans are going to continue to be let down when they get it wrong.

Now for the ups....
