7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (18 April - Review)

7. Miz Gets Back To Wrestling

Seth Rollins The Miz

It’s really hard to give this one an “up” after the Miz spent the past couple of months being a human punching bag, including getting beat up by Pat McAfee, Shane McMahon and Snoop Dogg at WrestleMania 39.

But we’ve got to give a bit of credit here for him having a competent match against Seth Rollins on Raw. Miz’s latest run as a walking punchline pretty much killed his credibility – and the outcome of this match was never in doubt – but he managed to work up to Seth’s level Monday night, coming through with a good outing against the Visionary.

Miz still is a joke who shouldn’t be wrestling former world champions just weeks after being knocked out by a 51-year-old rapper, so a lot of credit has to go to Rollins for making Miz look like a threat, even if it was just a few 2 counts.

WWE, however, should make up its mind. If they want Miz to be a midcard heel who has competitive matches and comes up short, that’s fine. But you also can’t book him as a joke who gets beat up constantly by celebrities and part-time wrestlers, then expect us to really care when he decides to get serious every few weeks.
