7. Is Kross Sami’s Muse For 'Mania?

Karrion Kross’ evolution into a backstage devil’s advocate is a strange one, but he’s carved out an interesting little niche for himself.

Lately, Kross has targeted Sami Zayn, urging him to stop caring about others and focus on his own accomplishments. He believes that Zayn is too nice and helps everyone except himself. During the Royal Rumble, Sami helped Roman, and then moments later was repaid by Jey inadvertently booting him off the apron, eliminating him.

Monday, Sami made peace with Jey quickly, hugging and congratulating him. But Karrion was waiting in the wings, commenting on how touching the moment was, asking Zayn, “What’s it like watching everyone achieve your dreams while you hand out free hugs?”

To his credit, Sami told Kross off, but Karrion pledged to be a problem if Zayn didn’t take him seriously. If this serves to get Sami unstuck heading into WrestleMania 41 or serve as an interim feud before the big show, then this is a perfect little sidetrack. And Kross continues to be a delight in these small doses.
