Downs…

3. Falling To Dastardly Powder

A lot has gone into getting the Wyatt Sicks over as an act and building them up as a force on Raw.

Their rivalry with American Made worked in that Chad Gable and company ensured the matches were solid and they sold the fear element of the Wyatts. The group’s latest feud with the Final Testament and the Miz has been pretty decent overall, but the eight-man tag match on Monday night brought the first true blemish against the Wyatts since their debut.

The match itself was fine, but then Paul Ellering made his return and blinded Uncle Howdy with powder, allowing Karrion Kross to defeat him with the Final Prayer. Just like that, the Wyatts were human and able to be felled by a manager throwing powder in the stable leader’s eyes.

Losing matches in banana peel fashion is the kind of thing that could slowly kill their aura. If they’re simply overwhelmed by brute force and physicality, that’s one thing, but if they’re taking pins because Scarlett and Ellering are providing distractions, then how impressed or scared should others be by this faction?

There of course is another side to this, but this could serve as a marker if a trend emerges and the Wyatts’ star power starts to diminish.
