2. What’s The Point Of A Stable?

Pop quiz: what is the main reason for wrestling stables to exist?

Generally, the accepted answer is that there is strength in numbers. Having several wrestlers unified in a stable (heel or babyface) provides immediate backup, protection against attacks, and an equalizer when there are additional wrestlers interfering at ringside.

Apparently, Damage CTRL missed the memo.

Dakota Kai tangled with Liv Morgan in a bout that could be framed as “building momentum,” with Morgan facing Iyo Sky at Saturday Night’s Main Event and Kai advancing last week in the Women’s Intercontinental Championship tournament. Pure Fusion Collective almost immediately made their way out to ringside and proceeded to repeatedly get involved, distracting Dakota and causing her eventually to lose to Morgan.

As soon as the match ended, PFC jumped into the ring and the three-on-one beatdown was on… until Iyo and Kairi Sane finally made their way down to ringside for the save (although Sky got flattened by an Oblivion).

Where in the blue hell was Damage CTRL all that time? PFC was out there for the majority of the match, long enough for Sky and Sane to hustle out of the dressing room and get down to the ring to back up their teammate. If PFC has been out there for all of a minute and cost Kai the match before Damage CTRL raced out, that would be understandable, but this was just lazy.

The match itself was also average at best, so it’s not like this was a good match brought down by the silliness.
