7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (9 Sept - Results & Review)

5. Bron Makes The Rounds

In recent weeks, WWE was pretty blatantly signposting that Jey Uso would be Bron Breakker’s next challenger for the Intercontinental Championship. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but when you have a 12-man tournament ongoing, it’s not the best idea.

Monday night, Breakker spent Raw going around backstage approaching each of the other three wrestlers competing for the number one contender’s spot. He bantered with each of them, establishing himself as the alpha and taking shots at each man in the event that they won the four-way later that evening.

In doing so, Bron made you want to see him battle Braun Strowman, Pete Dunne or Ilja Dragunov, even though Uso still was the obvious route. And by being omnipresent on Raw, it made Breakker feel even more important, a central figure on this show, with the IC title being a focal point throughout the evening, right up through the main event and to the closing shot of the program.
